Women empowerment.

In recent times women in Nigeria have been seeking independence and recognition. No longer content with their traditional roles as housewives and mothers. The women have joined together to create a mind of women liberation movements, first under the umbrella of WRAPA, an acronym for Women's Rights and Privileges Agency, and later under several other bodies including non-governmental agencies like Women in Nigeria  (WIN), Association of Northern Women in Science and Technology (ANWIST) and convention for Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The federal Ministry for Women Affairs has been established since 1995 for the development and advancement of Nigerian women towards what they call 'gender equality'.

Through all these bodies, Nigerian women hope to acquire the freedom to pursue interest outside the home, like the opportunity to acquire education or pursue a career, instead of spending all the time doing housework.

The effects of the changes brought about by these bodies are already being felt in some families. For instance, the traditional husband-wife relationship appears to be undergoing a radical transformation. Because so many women are now working, men are learning to share the household tasks of cooking, cleaning and even caring for the children. In some families, there appears to be a complete reversal of the traditional roles; the husband stays at home while the wife earns the family's income. It should be pointed out, however , that this is the exception, not the rule.

The effects of women's liberation are being felt not only in the homes but also on the job. More and more women are working and they are demanding equal responsible positions. It not uncommon these days for a woman to head a major government ministries and parastatals. Many businesses now encourage women to advance to high management positions, and every year, the nation's higher institutions produce more women doctors, lawyers, and accounts.

Politics and government are other areas that are feeling the impact of the women's movement. Although Nigerians do not appear ready to accept a woman president, women are already being elected to public offices in increasing numbers as senators and members of the nations all and state assemblies. Although Nigeria is yet to have a woman as governor, which is the highest office in a state, there have been a few women deputy governors and house speakers. A few year ago, this would have been unthinkable.

In conclusion, women in Nigeria are acquiring greater independence which is causing sweeping changes in the society, at home, at work and in politics. So men may not be happy with these changes but the women are quick to point out that it was they, Men who created the conditions leading to the reaction of the women. What would you say about this then?

A short story 2

The man came closer and greeted the man of God, and he said to him " Sir, I was there when you raised a dead child some moment ago, tell me sir how were you able to do such a thing?". The man of God smiled and said to him ;  If you can trust in God, raising a dead body would be possible. The man asked curiously; Sir is that all?. The man of God answered "Yes that's all". The man was not convinced and so he decided to follow the man of God. He said he didn't believe that was possible because the dead he raised was just a child and it doesn't seem so difficult to do. On their way going, an ambulance was passing, and it was carrying a man who just died in a car accident. The man of God beckoned on the driver to stop and he asked what was wrong, the driver of the ambulance explained in details t

Impatience 1

Obviously, the way the days are going, it shows that nothing really entail stagnation anymore especially in such a world that is full of some many things occurring and happening in a Jeff. Everything needs responds; there is a phone call it needs responds from the receiver otherwise the caller either continue calling or at once looses patient and start complaining why he or she is not picking up the call. You sent a proposal you need response  instantly, you apply for something you need an immediate response it could possibly be that the time you were given seem too elongated to you and so you prefer to use another method or way.     To an extent, impatience has taken over many things and over the personality of many people. And that is why there are kites of regrets obviously noticed flying up and down in their lives daily.           REASONS FOR IMPATIENCE  •Comparison have had a great effect on peoples lives and has being one of the basic cause of impatience.
